Position Goal

The Equipment Manager works under the supervision of the Athletic Director to ensure the timely completion, maintenance, and ongoing safety/aesthetics of equipment and fields.

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum age: 21
  • Must possess valid Arizona Driver’s License
  • Must possess or be eligible for and obtain Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in basic sprinkler repair and adjustment, irrigation clock programming, basic custodial duties, ground maintenance related to field striping and athletic field game preparation.
  • Ability to perform duties in a safe, professional manner
  • Ability to inventory, repair clothing and equipment
  • Ability to organize and maintain athletic locker room as it pertains to athletes usage
  • Willing to adjust work schedule according to needs of High School and team sports.
  • Willing to work in inclement weather
  • Able to lift 100 pounds
  • Must be a self-starter, work alone when necessary, and self-coordinate workload, using established priorities
  • Must establish and maintain effective relationships with supervisor, coaches and other District employees

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain uniforms, laundry equipment and athletic lockers
  • Maintain daily laundry assignments from Athletic Director
  • Perform scheduled light custodial duties
  • Perform daily athletic ground checks and maintenance
  • Perform preventative maintenance as it pertains to athletic fields
  • Maintain and repair were possible athletic equipment
  • Prepare for, and have ready, facilities for sporting events
  • Involvement in field repairs and larger projects
  • See that athletic fields are clean and presentable
  • Communicate with supervisor and school site-based personnel to keep them properly informed of needs

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly asked to work closely with athletes/ athletic staff. The employee is regularly exposed to, outside weather conditions, and landscape chemical and field paint fumes. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

 

 

Salary Schedule: Support Staff Initial Salary Placement Range 102

Reports to: Athletic Director or Site Athletic Administrator
